I never had ear pain before seeing him and the only reason I went was because I was at NIU and he was close. Go to Chicago, see a different doctor. It hurts so bad right now and I can't do anything about it. I even went to a psychiatrist because the pain makes me on edge and I've cried so much because of it and I'm a tough guy. It's Never going to end.
In addition, when I spoke with her face to face, she claimed that because Dr. Scianna is a physician that he knew my body and my machine better than me. I do not understand how a man who has never met me somehow knows my body better than I do. It was a brash statement that never should have been said.
Everything went exceptionally smooth from the moment I walked in until I was finished. The staff made me comfortable upon arrival as a new patient as well as the audiologist. I hate going to Dr.s but Dr Scianna was very nice and polite. I felt confident in his recommendations when I was finished and he did not recommend any additional "add ons" as I experienced at my previous Dr office.
I had a minor surgery on my ear with this guy and the surgery failed. After the procedure I was in tears from the constant stabbing pain in my ear and called the office to see him. They said, "we can see you in 2 weeks" even how bad it was.
A year later the pain never went away and I had the same exact surgery done in Chicago. The surgery was a success and the graft held perfectly however the pain never went away. It's been 3 years later and I lay awake at night sobbing because it hurts so bad. I've had 2 MRIs to try to find nerve damage and numerous office visits in Chicago costing me tons of money. I just want to go a week without being in pain. This place is awful and I don't think I'll ever get better. I wish I never went here. I wish I listened to my gut and went to the city for surgery.
She was unprofessional with me and gave me attitude both in person and on the phone. When I requested to talk to Dr. Scianna over the phone to submit a complaint of her assumptions concerning my particular case, she claimed that because of "legal reasons" he wasn't able to talk to me. Donna further said that even if I were to come in person and try to talk to the doctor for a couple of minutes, that he still wouldn't talk to me because of not being a patient despite my appointments already set with him.
I wouldn't know how Dr. Scianna is with his patients because I canceled my second appointment due to the front desk lady named Donna. She made assumptions of where I received my C-PAP machine and said that I needed a compliance form in order to have the doctor change the air pressure setting on it. Instead of asking if it was paid off and if I owned the machine or where I initially got it from, she assumed that I received it from Lehan's Pharmacy on 4th street in DeKalb. The staff at Lehan's had no idea what the compliance form was and all other doctors that I have talked to have never heard of this form. For her to make assumptions about where I received my C-PAP machine puts my life at risk and continues my sleep deprivation which affects my daily life. I was not able to see Dr. Scianna with my first appointment because of her not asking the correct questions concerning my machine and asking for a form that no one else seems to know about.
Only had one visit. Very nice staff. Dr S took time to listen and answer all my questions. Overall pleased with the experience.
There was a 45 minute wait past appointment time, but I found it worth the wait. The staff, from the front desk, and all the way through were pleasant and polite. Dr. Scianna impressed me very much because he took the time to listen; gave options with his opinion; was considerate of the cost involved; made me feel like he cared. God bless him.
If the front desk lady can't professionally and politely handle customers and inform patients with correct information it only reflects the doctors ability to do the same. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.
